What does a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ look like?
The Core Competencies is a growth profile built upon Jesus’ commandments to love God as our first priority and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matt. 22:37-40). What are the core characteristics and traits of someone who is increasingly growing in his or her love for God and others? These thirty are not exhaustive but are core characteristics we see over and over again in the Bible. They holistically address the head (knowledge), heart (character), and hands (skills) of the believer so that he or she matures in Christ-likeness to the glory of God.
I believe that the infinite and eternal God is involved in and cares about my daily life. Psalm 121:1-2
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin – that He suffered, was crucified and buried, but rose on the third day, after which He ascended into heaven where He sits at the Father’s right hand. Hebrews 1:3
I believe in the one true God of the Bible who exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14
Authority of the Bible
I believe the Bible is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God and has the authority to command my belief and action. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Salvation by Grace
I believe a person comes into a right relationship with God by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.
Man & Sin
I believe all people are loved by God, and because of my sins, I need Jesus Christ as my Savior. John 3:16
I believe the church is God’s primary way to accomplish His purposes on earth today. Ephesians 4:15-16
I believe God gives all Christians a gift to help others and glorify Him.

I believe there is a heaven and a hell and that Jesus Christ is returning to judge the earth and to establish His eternal kingdom. John 14:1-4

Nurture of the Family
